Yummy Spoonfuls

So I've been struggling with getting my nine-month-old daughter to eat solids. I started blending her food fresh daily. I went to the grocery store and bought all fresh organic fruits and veggies... the whole nine! She would turn her head, clench her jaws shut, and when I did manage to get some food in her mouth she would spit it out. I was wasting so much food. Even when I made as little as I could she wouldn't eat unless I liquefied it and put it in a bottle. I was so overwhelmed with this stage. Here I was watching and comparing everyone else's child leaping past this milestone and my Brooklyne... is struggling.

The bright side of the story: I was walking through Target and saw Yummy Spoonfuls and at first I thought nothing but what I make myself is good enough for my baby but then I took a closer look. I loved the way it clearly states it only has one ingredient, no GMO's, and all certified organic fruit of veggies. No funny names on the label. I figured why not give it a try. She loves it so far.. I couldn't be happier. They come frozen. You keep it frozen until you ready to use. Keep refrigerated until thawed. Once thawed it must be used within 24 hours. This was so helpful. On days I couldn't blend her food myself I know we can keep practicing with these pre-made packs and since I have 24 hours we can be less wasteful and store it for tomorrow. They have a ton of yummy combinations. I can definitely see this being helpful for working moms who want healthy for their babies but don't always have the time to make it from scratch.

Summer time fine!

Summer is in full swing ladies and gents! Although some of us are getting summer fine and trying to look our very best to flex on the beach... Their are those of us doing just that plus more. For moms, a beach day with young children can be more stress than fun at times. But, with these adorable swim suits from target at least it will make the experience a little sweeter. I even got the jumper from target. I thought it would be the perfect thing to throw over a wet baby and not be ruined by the time I got home. The gold sandals my sister bought from Old Navy. I Love them they go with pretty much everything. Her sunglasses was also a gift from her aunt also bought at Old Navy.

Brooklyne

I'm a mom first. Being a mom takes precedence over everything else. At times it can seem so overwhelming. I can get so consumed in tending to everyone else that, at times, I feel I lose myself. This blog has really helped bring balance back to my life. (although, it does cause more sleepless nights than I'd like) It's something for me... Something I love. Being a mom is the toughest, selfless, thankless (at times) job I've ever done. Many days I feel defeated. My favorite saying is that "being a parent doesn't come with a handbook". So with that in mind everyday I get up and try again. To be a better mother and partner. I try not to dwell on things and can't change and I try not to take life to seriously.  When I look at my children i can't help but feel blessed. Blessed to see the strides they make first hand. Blessed to be able to create and reinforce a great bond with them. Blessed that they are mine. This is Brooklyne. My most recent obsession. The youngest of my two.. Here she is just about nine months. On this day we attempted to have a mini photo shot at home. I'm new to this but i think i got a few good shots.
