Business Savvy

I've been a stay at home mom now for a little over a year and recently, I had an interview. So, I was excited to actually put a look together that was outside of what I'd usually wear. (I was more excited to get dressed than the actual interview, Ha!) I didn't wear this exactly but when I did go to Express I did find these amazing pants on sale for $33. They are the columnist low rise ankle pants. I absolutely love the print. I paired it with a classic black Express portofino shirt. For the shoes I used a classic black pump by Charles David. (which by the way is the perfect height and has just enough point.. it's perfection. Red bottom look without the price) The necklace I coincidentally got at Express also about three years ago. Lastly, my go to, my black Gucci soho mini chain purse.

Reflective

I was walking around a department store and this jacket yelled at me from across the isle. The photo just doesn't do it justice. It's a stiff denim and slightly oversized. With that in mind I knew I had to show more of my beautiful melanin. I went with this Guess cropped top because it has a great belted detail around the bottom and it added some edge. I paired it with a pair of black ultra skinny jeans (Rips on the knees.. major key). For my shoes, of course, Jeffrey Campbell black one strap Ibiza. Lastly, I topped it with a pair of black wayfarer by RayBan.

So Dope

Make your body suits have more than one use. This top is actually a swimsuit. It’s from an online boutique @shopflynation. It was only $22.  I don’t usually list the prices but I had to share that. The fit is amazing and although the price is low the quality isn’t. I paired it with a pair of lose, ripped/destroyed boyfriend cut jeans from FashionNova. I added a black, red, and green cloth belt for color. I must say, I’ve had this belt since high school and I believe I picked it up from a local flea market. Finally, to dress up this look I added my favorite one strap sandal by Jeffrey Campbell, Ibiza. For my accessories I went with timeless large gold hops, wayfarer style RayBans, chunky gold necklace, gold bangles and my infamous red Gucci Soho mini chain bag to tie in my belt.

Fenty Love

Fenty Love

I have a new appreciation for overalls. (and anything resembling) I started with the Ivory Park skully believe it or not. It just appealed to me. (although parappa the rapper came to mind more than once when I tried it on.. I went with it) I knew I had to show skin with something as concealing as a skully so this black ribbed crop top from TopShop was perfect. I paired it with a denim overall/dress also from TopShop. Of course, at this point I was in a perfect position to show of my black pair Fenty Creepers. The accessories pulled the look together for me. My gold door knockers, chunky necklace and gold bangles made my hat acceptable.

The Bomb Bomber

Although summer is quickly approaching we still have a few cool nights left to experience. This quilted pattern olive green boomer really stood out against all the others. I matched it with a perfectly fitting crop top to balance out all of the coverage from the bomber. Plus, a little mid-drift never hurt. For my bottom I went with and ultra skinny black jean with slits on the knees. I finished this look with the most comfortable one strap heel ever made, Ibiza by Jeffery Campbell. For my accessories I went with favorite pair of gold doorknocker earrings and a few gold bracelets.

Peep The Creepers

Peep The Creepers

This look came very natural to me. A relaxed jean means everything when you cater to two small children all day. I paired these boyfriend cut jeans from BlankNYC with a lace-like textured crop top. The crop top I found at an awesome local boutique @touchdollsmiami. I kept up my jeans with this brown leather belt from Gap. (which may be from the men’s dpt.) My accessories I kept simple with large hoops and chunky bangles. Lastly, my new favorites, a pair of green; gum bottom creepers by Ms. Fenty herself.

70's With A Touch of Gucci

As a mom of two young children, having a functional wardrobe is a must. This full length; wide leg romper by Rachel Roy was a perfect addition. The soft, lightweight denim is easy on the skin and the light stretch allows for easy motion. The wide leg inspired a 1970's feel so I paired it with this beautiful chunky heel by Gucci. The platform bottom makes it easy to keep balance when keeping up with my four-year-old son. I kept the accessories light with simple hoops, gold bracelets, and a long black and gold necklace. I added the black wool fedora by Sole Society to keep it bohemian chic. Lastly, but certainly not least, a Gucci Soho mini chain bag. This is my favorite bag right now because of its versatility from a functional cross-body to an elegant one shoulder.
